Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Callaghan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Hungus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hungus comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Richard Callaghan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 22 - 0, fighting out of London, Karl Hungus!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hungus fakes the leg kick and cracks Callaghan in the body.
Hungus takes a kick to the side of the head.
Hungus uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Callaghan has time to react.
Hungus on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Callaghan misses with a double jab
and Hungus counters with a body kick.
Hungus throws a half hearted mid kick.
Callaghan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Callaghan moves out of range of the leg kick from Hungus.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hungus closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hungus scores with a hook to the body.

Hungus avoiding damage as Callaghan throws knees to the body.

Hungus tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Callaghan's elbow.

Callaghan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hungus is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Callaghan pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Karl Hungus will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

No joy there for Hungus, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hungus shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Callaghan sprawls well. Callaghan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hungus gets slowly back to his feet.

Hungus gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hungus throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hungus keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Callaghan.
Callaghan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hungus.
Callaghan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Callaghan lands a head shot.
Callaghan feints and then cracks Hungus's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hungus down.
Callaghan tries to clinch up but Hungus circles away and keeps his distance.
Hungus fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Hungus looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Hungus blocks a head kick by Callaghan.
Hungus steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Callaghan. That one must have hurt.
Hungus misses with a low kick.
Richard Callaghan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Callaghan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hungus.
Hungus avoids the head kick by Callaghan.
Callaghan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Hungus clinches with his opponent.
Hungus tries to circle away but Callaghan has him pinned against the cage.
Hungus blocking some punches.
Hungus tries to throw a body punch but Callaghan avoids it by throwing Hungus back against the cage.
Callaghan tries a knee to the head but Hungus blocks it.

Hungus is trying to drag Callaghan to the mat but Callaghan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Callaghan creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hungus's defenses.


It looks like Karl Hungus has been cut.

Callaghan has Hungus pressed against the cage, preventing Hungus from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Hungus is rocked!
Hungus is pressed against the cage. Callaghan pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Hungus! Two more big strikes from Callaghan and Hungus crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Richard Callaghan!
