Le Banner has chosen Carmina Burana as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jerome Le Banner will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le Banner changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Le Banner throws a right and a left that Ripley avoids nicely.
Le Banner works the jab nicely.
Le Banner scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Le Banner wants to clinch.
Ripley throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Le Banner.
Le Banner has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Ripley throws a series of punches but Le Banner avoids them all with ease.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ripley.

Le Banner closes the distance and clinches.

Le Banner's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ripley throws a nice looking combination but Le Banner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ripley moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Le Banner moves in looking to clinch but Ripley pushes him off.

Le Banner looks to land a combination but Ripley avoids it well.
Ripley misses with a head kick.
Le Banner cracks Ripley with a good jab.

Le Banner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ripley throws a series of punches but Le Banner avoids them all with ease.
Le Banner uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ripley has time to react.
Le Banner avoids a punch combination nicely.
Le Banner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ripley circles away quickly and effectively.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ripley tries to close the distance and clinch but Le Banner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ripley gets tackled into the ropes by Le Banner. Le Banner maintains the clinch.

Le Banner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ripley doesn't manage to clinch there - Le Banner circles away.

Le Banner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ripley, pushing him back against the ropes.

Le Banner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Le Banner showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ripley.
Ripley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Le Banner ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ripley takes a kick to the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Some wild striking there from Ripley.
Le Banner is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ripley had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
An inside leg kick lands from Le Banner.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ripley misses with the combination.
Le Banner feints and then cracks Ripley's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ripley down.
Ripley walks into a left hand.

Le Banner moves into the clinch.
Ripley working hard to break the clinch.

Le Banner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Le Banner has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Le Banner lands a jab.
Ripley takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Le Banner connects with a nice looking jab.
Nice uppercut there from Le Banner.
Ripley throws a nice looking combination but Le Banner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Le Banner fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ripley looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nice body kick there by Le Banner.
Ripley is breathing heavily.
Le Banner cracks Ripley with a right hand to the side of the head.

Le Banner clinches up against the ropes.

Le Banner's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ripley fails to land with a series of punches.
Le Banner explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Le Banner clobbers Ripley with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Ripley tries to clinch up but Le Banner circles away and keeps his distance.
Le Banner connects with a looping right hand.
Le Banner lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ripley takes a kick to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ripley walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Le Banner rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Ripley has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.
Ripley tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Le Banner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Le Banner.
Le Banner lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ripley at a distance.
Le Banner thows a body kick. Ripley tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Le Banner scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Ripley to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.


Ripley is rocked!
Le Banner and Ripley are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Le Banner throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Ripley into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Le Banner knows it - he's on the ropes flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jerome Le Banner!
Jerome Le Banner seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
