Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Red Belt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Braga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belt's entrance music is Dance of the Knights. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Red Belt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Antonio Braga!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Braga shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Antonio Braga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Braga moves out of range as Belt strikes.
Braga will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Belt misses with a wild body shot.

Braga closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Belt's guard.
Braga preventing the sweep.
Braga tries to free his leg and advance position but Belt is retaining full guard.
Braga throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Belt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Braga drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Belt dives on top into guard.

Belt is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at SWF GYM - JUDO 'n' MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Belt is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Belt takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Red Belt just wasn't active enough.
Belt ducks right into an uppercut from Braga.
Braga throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Belt tries to clinch but Braga moves out of range.

Braga keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Braga shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Braga is thwarting Belt's attempts to control the position.

Braga is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Belt sees it coming and defends easily.
Belt is trying to control but can't.
Braga not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Braga throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Belt is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Braga wants to free his trapped foot but Belt is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Braga seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Belt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Braga frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Braga is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Belt can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Braga wants to control the pace but Belt is squirming around nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Braga goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Belt is on top in guard.

Braga escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Belt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!



Braga looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Braga accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Belt is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Belt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Belt is on top in guard.
Braga lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Belt!

It looks like Red Belt has been cut.

Red Belt's cut is getting worse.

Braga has hold of Belt's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Belt manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Belt is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Braga pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Braga has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Braga moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Belt has worked his arm free - good work by Belt!

Belt is trying to control Braga's posture but Braga avoids it.

The strikes coming from Braga are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Braga tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Red Belt's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Braga throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Belt works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Braga working his ground and pound in the gym.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Antonio Braga showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Belt moves in looking to clinch but Braga pushes him off.

Belt closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Braga did well to prevent Belt getting side control.

Belt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Braga pinned against the cage. Braga gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Nice defenses there by Belt.
Belt stuffs the takedown attempt from Braga. Braga gets slowly back to his feet.

Braga tries to keep at a distance but Belt has taken the fight into the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Belt is trying to break free.
Braga has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Belt avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Braga tightens his grip and picks Belt up, before dumping him to the ground. Belt manages to land in guard.

Belt is looking for a sweep.
Belt wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Braga tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Braga has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Braga working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Belt avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Braga.

Braga tries to advance to mount but can't.

Braga swings around for an armbar but Belt sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Braga's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Belt postures up.

Belt decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Belt looks to land a combination but Braga avoids it well.
Horrible takedown by Braga or perhaps it was just good defense by Belt which made him look bad.
Red Belt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Braga.

Belt moves into the clinch successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is keeping an eye on Belt - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Belt stops a takedown attempt from Braga.
Red Belt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Belt throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Antonio Braga.
I've got Braga winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
