Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wang Chung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonardo Rafa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wang Chung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leonardo Rafa!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chung swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rafa lands a nice looking body shot.
Rafa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chung circles away quickly and effectively.
Rafa moves out of range as Chung throws a body kick.
Rafa fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Chung swats away the attempt to clinch by Rafa.
Some bone on bone action there as Rafa checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Rafa throws a series of punches but Chung moves out of range.
Rafa lands with a good body shot.
Rafa tries to clinch up.
Chung gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Chung moves into the clinch successfully.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rafa tries to break the clinch but Chung is controlling the position.
Rafa is trying to force a seperation but Chung has the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rafa softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.


It looks like Wang Chung has been cut.

Chung pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Chung fails to land the takedown.
Rafa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rafa tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Chung counters with a shoot takedown. Rafa fights it but they end up in guard.
Chung advances position into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chung trying to control the action but Rafa is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chung working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Chung wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rafa keeps working.
Chung throws an elbow but Rafa slips to the side and avoids it well.
Rafa parries the strikes from Chung easily there. Chung is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rafa to escape.
Chung has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Rafa!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chung tries to control but Rafa wriggling away.
Chung unloads with some shots from mount but Rafa bucks and avoids them well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chung thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Chung throws some wild stikes that Rafa manages to avoid easily.
You get the feeling that Rafa really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Poor strikes thrown by Chung there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Chung is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rafa has managed to escape the submission attempt.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rafa can do anything to dispel that myth.

Chung working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Rafa looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Chung! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Wang Chung!
