Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Eliott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Eliott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Harris!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eliott throws a leg kick but Harris checks it.
Eliott has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Harris checks a low kick from Eliott.
Harris closes the distance but Eliott moves to the side
and Eliott counters with a nice low kick that buckles Harris's knee momentarily.
Eliott stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Eliott wants it to stay on the feet.
Harris throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Eliott's waist but Eliott gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Harris off to one side.
Harris shoots in for a takedown but Eliott shows good takedown defense.
Jon Eliott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Harris.

A bone on bone clash there as Harris blocks the leg kick.

Eliott does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Harris bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Eliott's head backwards.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Harris is defended easily by Eliott.

Harris fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Eliott avoids it really well and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Harris looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Eliott misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Harris tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Eliott paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Eliott attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Harris fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Eliott avoids it really well and circles away.

Harris throws a sloppy head kick and Eliott moves out of range easily.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Eliott manages to get to full guard.

Harris throws a big elbow that misses.

Eliott is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Harris is aware though and is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Eliott is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Harris defends it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Eliott works his foot free and advances to mount.

Eliott has his foot on Harris's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harris works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Harris fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Eliott to the ground. Harris is now in Eliott's guard.

Eliott had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Harris defends it easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Jon Eliott will probably get the nod.

Eliott has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Harris is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Eliott has his hands clasped together but Harris extends and breaks Eliott's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Harris.
