PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Barral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barral uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Black.

Black throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Barral tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Black is in Barral's guard.
Black must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Black controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Barral has his foot on Black's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Black works his way back into a safe position though.

Black is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Black postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Black stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barral swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Black got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barral has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Black has managed to get both his arms back between Barral's legs - danger averted.
Black postures up and lands a big shot to Barral's brow.

Black is pushing down on Barral's leg trying to pass to half guard. Barral is fighting to maintain full guard but Black has managed to sneak the leg through.

Black lands a big elbow - Barral is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Barral is forced to tap out!
