Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matti Teitsi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yehia Kamel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matti Teitsi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yehia Kamel!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Teitsi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Kamel misses with some punches.

Kamel jumps guard and drags Teitsi to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Teitsi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kamel's head.

We've been hearing good reports from Teitsi's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Kamel is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Kamel has his foot on Teitsi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Teitsi works his way back into a safe position though.
Teitsi is looking to work some ground and pound but Kamel has wrist control.

Kamel is looking for a triangle but Teitsi pushes his legs off easily.
Teitsi postures up in Kamel's guard and throws a big left but Kamel blocks it.

Kamel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Teitsi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Teitsi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Teitsi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Teitsi is pushing down on Kamel's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kamel is fighting to maintain full guard but Teitsi has managed to sneak the leg through.
Teitsi is looking to advance position but Kamel won't allow it.

Kamel makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kamel.
Teitsi is working Kamel over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kamel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Teitsi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Teitsi is landing with some decent strikes but Kamel is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kamel is rocked!
Kamel is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matti Teitsi dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Teitsi ducks under a wild hook from Kamel.
Kamel cracks the inside of Teitsi's front leg.
Teitsi takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Teitsi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kamel circles away quickly and effectively.

Teitsi finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Kamel throws a shot from downtown. Teitsi moves away and avoids it.
Kamel is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Teitsi throws a right hand that Kamel ducks under and follows up with a left that Kamel also avoids with ease.
Kamel cracks Teitsi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Teitsi has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Teitsi there as he acknowledges the shot.
Kamel stuffs the takedown.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kamel. Teitsi does a little dance to reset his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kamel goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Kamel looks to score with a jab to the body but Teitsi is just out of range.
Teitsi lands a slapping body shot.
Kamel throws a wild body kick that Teitsi sees coming a mile off.

Teitsi connects with a looping right hand.
Kamel bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Teitsi's head backwards.
Kamel throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
The fighters circling - Kamel throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kamel lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
A clash of legs there as Teitsi blocks the low kick.
Teitsi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kamel. Kamel obviously looking to wear him down.
Teitsi is looking to clinch but Kamel is avoiding it.
Teitsi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Teitsi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Teitsi moves out of range as Kamel strikes.
Kamel scores with a kick to the body.
Teitsi misses the shot to the body.
Kamel misses the shot to the body.
Kamel misses with a two punch combination.
Teitsi shoots for a takedown but Kamel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kamel shoots in but no luck this time.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Yehia Kamel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Teitsi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kamel.
Teitsi misses with a double jab.
Kamel feints and then cracks Teitsi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Teitsi down.
Kamel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Teitsi moves forwards but Kamel connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Kamel connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Teitsi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kamel thows a body kick. Teitsi tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Teitsi throws a leg kick which misses Kamel's front leg but catches the back leg as Kamel tries to avoid it.
Teitsi tried to score with a low kick but Kamel checks it.
Kamel dodges the punch combination from Teitsi.
Kamel connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Kamel stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Teitsi looks to throw the jab but Kamel is out of range.
Teitsi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Kamel scores with a kick to the midsection.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kamel has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Teitsi finds it's way round the side to connect with Kamel's head.

Teitsi sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yehia Kamel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Teitsi shoots in but Kamel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kamel throws a sloppy head kick
and Teitsi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Teitsi throws an overhand right that lands on Kamel's shoulder, as Kamel tries to avoid the shot.
Teitsi throws a low kick but Kamel moves out of range easily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Teitsi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kamel has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kamel and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Teitsi throws a shot from downtown. Kamel moves away and avoids it.
Teitsi scores with a one two! Kamel had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Kamel is still on wobbly legs! Can Teitsi finish him?
Kamel shoots for a takedown but Teitsi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Teitsi lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Kamel falls backwards - clearly groggy! Teitsi dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matti Teitsi!
Matti Teitsi tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
