Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Louis Friedlander !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jakinek Ii Jakinek!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Jakinek tenderised Friedlander 's leg. Friedlander is trying to keep his angry face on.
Jakinek throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jakinek scores with a body shot.
Jakinek thows a body shot but no joy.
Friedlander looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jakinek changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Friedlander blocks the body kick.
Jakinek rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Friedlander moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jakinek throws a head kick but Friedlander moves out of range.
Friedlander walks into a jab.
Crunch! Jakinek slams his shin into Friedlander 's torso.
Jakinek throws a series of punches but Friedlander avoids them all with ease.
Jakinek misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Friedlander shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jakinek but Jakinek pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Friedlander closes the distance and clinches up with Jakinek, looking for a takedown. Friedlander pushes Jakinek against the cage but Jakinek circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jakinek scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Friedlander doesn't seem bothered though.
Jakinek goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Jakinek lands a slapping body shot.
Jakinek misses with a jab, cross combination.
Friedlander tries for a takedown but Jakinek sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Louis Friedlander . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jakinek Ii Jakinek is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jakinek fails to land with a series of punches.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Friedlander is defended easily by Jakinek.

Friedlander keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Friedlander moves out of range of the body kick from Jakinek.
Friedlander takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Jakinek throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Jakinek tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Friedlander was well out of range. Poor timing from Jakinek.
Jakinek throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Jakinek throws a wild body kick that Friedlander sees coming a mile off.
Jakinek scores with a push kick.
Jakinek misses with a double jab

and Friedlander counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Friedlander is stalling in the full guard.

Friedlander wants to control from the top but Jakinek keeps moving.
Jakinek is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Friedlander slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Jakinek is not content to let Friedlander control the position.

Friedlander wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jakinek, who protects the arm well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Friedlander with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Louis Friedlander will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Danga de danga de dang - Jakinek scores with a four punch combination!
Louis Friedlander is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jakinek misses with a double jab.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Friedlander shoots in and bounces Jakinek off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jakinek is looking to stand up but Friedlander isn't so interested in that idea.
Jakinek utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Friedlander drops back looking for a leg! Jakinek is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jakinek manages to kick Friedlander off! Friedlander jumps back into Jakinek's guard.

Friedlander might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Friedlander thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Friedlander drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Friedlander jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Louis Friedlander overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Friedlander wants to control from the top but Jakinek keeps moving.

Friedlander drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jakinek manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Friedlander has Jakinek in his guard.

Friedlander has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jakinek should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Friedlander has tightened it up now! Jakinek should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
