PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dark Vengeance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiu Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Vengeance.
Jitsu has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Dark Vengeance seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jitsu.
We've been told by Vengeance's head coaches at Beauty School that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Vengeance tries to clinch up

and Jitsu counters with a single leg into guard. Vengeance didn't expect that.
Vengeance is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Vengeance pushes Jitsu off looking to stand but Jitsu dives back in and keeps control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Vengeance gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Vengeance.

Jitsu jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vengeance walks away with a smile on his face. Jitsu gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Jitsu counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Jitsu is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vengeance is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vengeance has escaped and now he's on top!

Jitsu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vengeance doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vengeance manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Vengeance got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jitsu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vengeance has managed to get both his arms back between Jitsu's legs - danger averted.

Jitsu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vengeance gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jitsu had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vengeance defends it easily.

Jitsu is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Vengeance has his hands clasped together but Jitsu extends and breaks Vengeance's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Jitsu.
