Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Meldrick Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Frazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meldrick Taylor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Meldrick Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Frazier!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frazier throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

so Taylor counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Frazier keeping moving, preventing Taylor from controlling successfully.
Frazier wants to stand but Taylor is controlling the position.

Taylor drops back looking for a leg! Frazier is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Frazier manages to kick Taylor off! Taylor jumps back into Frazier's guard.

The fighters are working up against the ropes. Frazier manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the ropes.
Frazier tries to break the clinch but Taylor is controlling the position.

Frazier pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Frazier throws a lazy right hand but Taylor sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Frazier shoots in looking for a takedown. Taylor tries to sprawl out of it but Frazier keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Taylor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Frazier tries to score with a low kick but Taylor moves his leg out of the way.

Frazier moves into the clinch successfully.

Frazier breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Taylor dives in for a single leg takedown but Frazier sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.

Frazier has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Taylor moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Joe Frazier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Meldrick Taylor will probably get the nod.

Frazier tries to kick Taylor off but Taylor keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Meldrick Taylor.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Taylor, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
