Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Douglas scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Sakuraba shoots in and drives through. Douglas sprawls well.
Douglas cracks a nice hook into Sakuraba's ribs.

Douglas's coach down at GoldStar Elite was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Douglas's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Douglas tries to throw a body punch but Sakuraba avoids it by throwing Douglas back against the cage.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sakuraba shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Douglas's guard.
Sakuraba won't allow Douglas to get back to his feet.

Sakuraba thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sakuraba is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Douglas wants to stand up but Sakuraba is controlling him.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kazushi Sakuraba just wasn't active enough.
Douglas throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sakuraba dives in and grabs Douglas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Douglas pushes down on Sakuraba's head and hops out.
Sakuraba shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Douglas throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sakuraba stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Sakuraba shoots for a double leg takedown but Douglas sprawls well. He's pushed Sakuraba's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kazushi Sakuraba. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sakuraba bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sakuraba happy to just control the position for now.
Sakuraba has an Americana. Douglas didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sakuraba is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sakuraba hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
