The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibiatti displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Funkyama throws out the jab.

Funkyama turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Funkyama manages to end up in side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

My spies in Brazilian Elite Team inform me that Funkyama has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Gibiatti is trying to get back to his feet but Funkyama has full control of the position and if anything, Gibiatti has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Funkyama has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Gibiatti! Can he survive? No! He's out! Funkyama gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted.
