PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Creel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Oath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oath has chosen Do you fuck on first dates as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Creel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Oath!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Creel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Oath lands a nice looking kick to the body. Creel takes a step back to recover.
Oath sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Creel misses with a low kick.
Oath scores with a jab. Creel acknowledges it with a nod of the head.


It looks like Carl Creel has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Oath fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Creel is out of range.
Creel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Oath moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Creel takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Creel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Oath has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Creel misses with a left hand

and Oath counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Oath seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Creel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Oath might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Creel haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Creel is holding on to half guard well.
Oath controlling the pace.
Oath throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Oath scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Creel is not content to let Oath control the position.
Creel is controlling Oath's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oath thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Oath missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Creel is trying to control but can't.
Creel definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Oath seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Creel throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Carl Creel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Oath counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Creel is looking to control Oath's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Creel avoid being mounted?
Creel is refusing to be controlled, as Oath sits in half guard.
Oath scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Oath with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Oath thows a huge punch but Creel dodges it nicely.

Oath missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Creel wants to improve his position but Oath is controlling well.
Creel gets full guard.
Creel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Creel trying to keep a closed guard but Oath is proving a slippery customer.
Oath trying to control the position from guard on top but Creel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Creel pulls Oath in close to his closed guard and prevents Oath from doing any damage or advancing position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Creel getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


It looks like Ken Oath has been cut.
Creel checks the leg kick nicely there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Oath has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Creel.
Creel walks into a straight right hand from Oath.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Creel throws a lazy right hand but Oath sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Creel cracks Oath with a right hand to the side of the head.
Oath misses the shot to the body.
Oath cracks Creel with a right hand to the side of the head.
Oath shoots in for a takedown but Creel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Creel throws a lazy uppercut

and Oath counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Creel!
Oath lands a few punches from side control.
Oath tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Creel is trying to improve his position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ken Oath dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Oath throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Creel walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Creel.
Oath avoids a kick to the body.
Creel tries a low kick but Oath avoids it.
Creel throws a nice inside leg kick.
Oath looks to land a body kick but Creel moved away.

Creel lands a big uppercut and Oath crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Oath looks OK. Creel waves Oath back to his feet!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Creel cracks Oath with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Oath looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Creel finish him?


Oath is rocked!
Creel lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Oath head around and knocks him out cold! Creel hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Carl Creel!
As Carl Creel got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: 18 straight wins and one full year at number 1 over here you rhasta bitch. In my prime you couldnt of smelled my jock.'.
