Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joey Rosario!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Jim!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jim looks to land a combination but Rosario avoids it well.

Jim changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rosario looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rosario sneaks back into half guard.
Rosario regains full guard. Nicely done.
Rosario looking for a sweep. Not yet Rosario, not yet.
Rosario controls Jim momentarily but Jim frees himself.
Jim is looking to work some ground and pound but Rosario has wrist control.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jim has eaten all the pies!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jim accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jim wanted to stand there but Rosario had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jim trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Rosario looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rosario manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Jim regains half guard.
Rosario throwing shots but Jim is blocking nicely.
Jim is trying to control but can't.
Jim is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Joey Rosario has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Jim bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rosario is trying to get back to half guard.
Jim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rosario. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jim has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Jim gets a double leg takedown into Rosario's guard.
Rosario not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jim Jim wasn't active enough on the ground.

Jim shoots in and bounces Rosario off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rosario swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rosario ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rosario no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Rosario wants to stand and escape but Jim is having none of it.
Jim Jim has got the better of the ground game so far.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Rosario is in all sorts of trouble here.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Jim. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Jim sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Poor strikes thrown by Jim there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Rosario bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Jim is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jim pulls Rosario in close to his closed guard and prevents Rosario from doing any damage or advancing position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Jim was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Jim drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Rosario looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jim stands up out of Rosario's guard for a moment - Rosario manages to land a nice upkick.

That's time! Rosario's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

A telegraphed right hand from Rosario misses the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jim shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Rosario wants to control from the top but Jim keeps moving.

Jim is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jim controls Rosario momentarily but Rosario frees himself.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rosario throws a left and a right that both miss

and Jim holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rosario is trying to pull guard but Jim has him pressed against the cage.

Rosario will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jim seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Jim Jim comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jim has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
