Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shintaro Nomo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adrian McMullen!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nomo getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Nomo lands with a shot to the body.
McMullen takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Shintaro Nomo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as McMullen checks a leg kick.

The fighters circling - Nomo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
McMullen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nomo.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McMullen moves away from the strike by Nomo.
Nomo throws an overhand right that lands on McMullen's shoulder, as McMullen tries to avoid the shot.
McMullen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nomo connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
McMullen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Nomo fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Nomo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McMullen takes a shot right to the bread basket.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nomo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McMullen looks winded!

Nomo scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
McMullen is rocked!
Nomo connects with a superb combination that knocks McMullen out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Nomo before he can land any more shots to the unconscious McMullen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Shintaro Nomo!

In his post fight interview, Shintaro Nomo started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
