The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Topper Green and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sampson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Irish swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sampson closes the distance and clinches.
Sampson pulls Irish into guard.
Irish wants to stand but Sampson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Irish throws an elbow that misses. Sampson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Irish's guard. Nice move by Sampson!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sampson lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Irish is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sampson defends well.

Sampson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sampson is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Irish is forced to tap! Great finish!
