The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moreira lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Holmes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Holmes throws a strike but Moreira rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Holmes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Holmes looks to land a strike but Moreira avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Holmes wants to pass the guard but Moreira is keeping the position.
Holmes throws a strike but Moreira rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Moreira gets to his feet. Holmes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Moreira lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Moreira throws a hook but Holmes blocks it.

Holmes walks into a stiff left hand from Moreira.
Holmes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Moreira.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Holmes, right into the meat.
