Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Forbes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laster Gunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hunter Forbes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Laster Gunner!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Ben Watson and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunner tries to clinch but Forbes is having none of it.
Gunner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gunner clinches up with Forbes and pushes him back against the cage.
Forbes jumps guard but Gunner stands there with Forbes around his waist. Forbes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Forbes is looking to break free of the clinch but Gunner has double underhooks.
Forbes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Gunner jumps guard and drags Forbes to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Forbes trying to control the position from guard on top but Gunner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gunner pulls Forbes in close to prevent any damage.
Forbes controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Gunner pulls Forbes in close to his closed guard and prevents Forbes from doing any damage or advancing position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Gunner tries to clinch but Forbes moves out of range.

Gunner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Forbes was covering up waiting for the punch and Gunner finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Forbes is looking to stand up but Gunner isn't so interested in that idea.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Laster Gunner hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gunner thuds a left hand into Forbes's body.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Forbes enables Gunner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Forbes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gunner postures up in Forbes's guard and throws a big left but Forbes blocks it.

Gunner wanted to stand there but Forbes had control of the position.
Gunner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Laster Gunner was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Gunner looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Gunner passes Forbes's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Gunner thows a huge punch but Forbes dodges it nicely.
Forbes is trying to stand up here but Gunner is controlling him well.
Forbes is looking to improve his position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Forbes avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gunner.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Laster Gunner dominated that round.

Gunner bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Forbes prevents Gunner from moving into mount.

Gunner goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Forbes rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gunner's guard! Nice work there by Forbes!
Gunner wants to stand up but Forbes is controlling him.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Forbes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gunner holds on and takes a little breather.
Forbes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laster Gunner has got the better of the ground game so far.

Forbes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Gunner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gunner pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Gunner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gunner is breathing heavily.
Forbes trying to control here.
Forbes wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gunner wants to control but Forbes is keeping him busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Laster Gunner.

Gunner moves into the clinch.
Gunner is pressed up against the cage. Forbes has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gunner down to the mat. Gunner avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Forbes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gunner throws a big elbow that misses.
Gunner trying to control but Forbes is working from the bottom.
Gunner content to stall in guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Laster Gunner has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Gunner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hunter Forbes.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gunner.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gunner is looking to take a break and control but Forbes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Laster Gunner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Gunner shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Forbes is looking to control Gunner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Forbes avoid being mounted?
Forbes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Forbes is trying to maintain the position but Gunner is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Gunner is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Forbes is just riding it out for now. Gunner eventually gives up the hold.
Gunner perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Gunner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Gunner wants to pass the guard but Forbes is defending well.
Forbes is trying is best to control the position here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hunter Forbes.
Gunner throws a leg kick but Forbes sees it coming and moves out of range.

Gunner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Forbes wants to get back to his feet.
Gunner with the ground and pound but Forbes uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Gunner stands up and waves to Forbes to follow him.

Forbes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gunner is controlling him.
Gunner trying to control the position from guard on top but Forbes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gunner stands and throws Forbes's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Gunner trying to control the position but Forbes is working away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Laster Gunner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gunner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
