Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Gilbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Dexter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Dexter wants a takedown.

Gilbert has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dexter regains guard immediately.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dexter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gilbert manages to get himself to full guard.

Dexter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dexter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gilbert is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dexter is aware though and is defending well.

Gilbert pulls Dexter in close to his closed guard and prevents Dexter from doing any damage or advancing position.
Gilbert knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dexter on the ground.

Gilbert has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dexter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gilbert is pulling down on Dexter's head. It's preventing any offense from Dexter, at least for the moment.
