Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carter Merritt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastian Biff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carter Merritt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sebastian Biff!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Biff circles away from the clinch attempt.
Biff swats away the attempt to clinch by Merritt.
Biff avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Merritt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Biff's waist but Biff gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Merritt off to one side.

and Biff counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Merritt is controlling Biff's posture.

Biff drops back looking for a leg! Merritt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Merritt manages to kick Biff off! Biff jumps back into Merritt's guard.

Merritt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Biff is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Biff stands and throws Merritt's legs to the side, diving into side control.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Biff drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Biff jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Biff stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Merritt swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Biff keeps the fight on the outside.
Merritt fails with an attempt to clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Merritt.
Biff takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Merritt lands some shots froms side control.
Biff is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Biff is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Merritt pulls his head out easily.

Biff looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Merritt has picked Biff up and slammed him! Biff can't keep hold of the triangle and Merritt manages to pass to side control!

Biff is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Merritt off and has taken his back!

Biff is breathing heavily.
Merritt wants to escape the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Merritt is working hard here to advance position.
Merritt manages to reverse the position and now he's in Biff's guard. Nice work there by Merritt.
Merritt has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Merritt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Biff has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Merritt has managed to get both his arms back between Biff's legs - danger averted.

Biff is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Merritt has his hands clasped together but Biff extends and breaks Merritt's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Biff.
