Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Harley Burlson!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burlson moves to clinch but Harris breaks away

and Harris counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Harris prevents Burlson from improving his position.
Burlson is trying to control but can't.

Harris is working for a submission of some sort.
Still in half guard, Harris seems content to control.
Harris is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Burlson is trying to stand up here but Harris is controlling him well.
Burlson wants to get back to full guard.
Harris is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Gunner Harris wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Harris throws a right hand that Burlson ducks under and follows up with a left that Burlson also avoids with ease.
Burlson tries to clinch but Harris is having none of it.

Harris throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Burlson escapes and throws Harris's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Burlson throws a strike aimed at the side of Harris's head but Harris avoids it well.
Harris wants to control but Burlson postures up.
Sloppy strikes there by Burlson.
Burlson misses with the ground and pound.
You can see the frustration on Harris's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Harris is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Burlson is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harris is looking for a sweep.
Harris on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Harris tries to get out of the position.
Burlson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Burlson misses with a takedown

and Harris counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Gunner Harris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Burlson pushes Harris off looking to stand but Harris dives back in and keeps control.
Burlson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Harris takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Harris tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Burlson defends well and Harris ends up having to push Burlson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Harris manages to break the clinch.

Harris looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Burlson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

and Burlson counters with a two punch combo.

Burlson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Harris.
Burlson fails with a takedown attempt.
Harris looks to land a right hand but Burlson moved out of range.

Harris drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burlson is looking to stand up but Harris isn't so interested in that idea.
Harris controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Gunner Harris has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Burlson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Harris's head backwards.
Harris checks the leg kick.
Burlson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Harris blocks a head kick by Burlson.
Harris uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Burlson.

We've been informed that Burlson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Harris closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Burlson quickly recovers to half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
