Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Shephard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vangelis Kokkalis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shephard's entrance music is You All Everybody. A fine choice. Kokkalis has chosen Promises - Nero ft. Skrillex as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kokkalis lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Jack Shephard has been cut.
Shephard fails to land with a series of punches.
Shephard shoots in but Kokkalis avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Shephard tries to move into range but Kokkalis moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Kokkalis closes the distance and clinches up with Shephard, looking for a takedown. Kokkalis pushes Shephard against the cage but Shephard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kokkalis working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Shephard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kokkalis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kokkalis lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Kokkalis throws a right and a left that Shephard avoids nicely.
Kokkalis throws the kick towards the body but Shephard avoids it.
Shephard is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Kokkalis throws a low kick, looking for Shephard's leg but Shephard calmly moves out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
