Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Benedict (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vanapa Animai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Animai is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Here comes the hotstepper. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Animai is defended easily by Benedict.
Benedict throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Animai.
Animai tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Benedict swivels and escapes.
A punch combination from Benedict misses.
Benedict takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Benedict scores with a nice head shot.
Animai tries to close the distance and clinch but Benedict swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've been told by Benedict's head coaches at Slaughterhouse MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Benedict avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Benedict throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Benedict throws the left hand but Animai avoids the punch easily.
Animai takes a jab right on the kisser.
Benedict slaps away a takedown attempt from Animai, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Joe Benedict has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vanapa Animai.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Benedict throws a looping overhand right but Animai ducks down to avoid it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Benedict lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Animai has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Animai and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Animai doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Benedict counters with a left to the body.

Benedict gets tackled into the cage by Animai. Animai maintains the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Benedict.
Benedict throws a punch but it's blocked by Animai.

Animai escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Animai tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Benedict defends well and Animai ends up having to push Benedict into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Animai jumps guard and drags Benedict to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Animai has his feet on Benedict's thighs here. He's pushed Benedict off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Benedict screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
