Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiruku Matah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matah has chosen Walker the Texas Ranger Theme as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fedor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hiruku Matah!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matah fails with a takedown attempt.
Matah fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Emelianenko avoids it really well and circles away.
Matah shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Emelianenko sprawls well. Emelianenko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Matah gets slowly back to his feet.
Fedor Emelianenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hiruku Matah.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Matah is defended easily by Emelianenko.

Matah wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Emelianenko, who protects the arm well.

Matah thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Matah is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Emelianenko reverses the position - he's now on top in Matah's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Emelianenko tries to close the distance and clinch but Matah swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Matah dives in and grabs Emelianenko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Emelianenko pushes down on Matah's head and hops out.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Emelianenko throws a leg kick which misses Matah's front leg but catches the back leg as Matah tries to avoid it.
Hiruku Matah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That has opened up Hiruku Matah's cut even more.
Emelianenko lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Matah to his knees! Emelianenko keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
