Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Akira Ishikawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sim Salabim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ishikawa might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to mindshift genki sudo. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akira Ishikawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Sim Salabim!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ishikawa tries a head kick but it misses.
Salabim throws a good cross that connects.
Ishikawa on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Salabim lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ishikawa circles away quickly and effectively.
Salabim stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Salabim is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Ishikawa throws a right and a left that Salabim avoids nicely.
Ishikawa throws a low kick but it's checked well by Salabim.

Ishikawa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ishikawa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Salabim does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ishikawa throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Salabim avoids the head kick by Ishikawa.
Salabim fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ishikawa looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Ishikawa takes one on the chin but seems OK.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters circling - Ishikawa throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Salabim shoots in and drives through. Ishikawa sprawls well.
A combination from Ishikawa does no damage.

Ishikawa doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Salabim counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Ishikawa has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Salabim is on him like a limpet, forcing Ishikawa back against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Ishikawa throws an elbow but misses.
Salabim throws a head punch that misses.
Salabim throws a punch but it's blocked by Ishikawa.
Ishikawa tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Salabim smiles and moves away.

Ishikawa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Salabim but Salabim pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Akira Ishikawa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ishikawa moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Salabim closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ishikawa quickly recovers to half guard.
Ishikawa is looking for a sweep. Salabim is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Salabim is looking to take a break and control but Ishikawa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ishikawa tries to roll over but Salabim keeps him under control.
Salabim trying to control from half guard but Ishikawa is working away.
Salabim winds up and cracks Ishikawa with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Salabim looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ishikawa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ishikawa has hold of Salabim's hands but Salabim slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Salabim might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Ishikawa turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ishikawa manages to end up in side control.

Salabim controlling the position well here. Ishikawa rolled but Salabim kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sim Salabim comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Salabim winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
