Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Miron Karoa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shark Attack!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Attack throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Attack connects with a solid leg kick.
Karoa shoots in but Attack avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Karoa has his takedown stuffed
and Attack counters with a stiff right hand.
Attack swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Karoa on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Attack. Attack obviously looking to wear him down.
Karoa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Attack defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miron Karoa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Karoa checks a leg kick nicely.
Karoa stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Attack.
Attack leaves Karoa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Attack lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
A left lands for Attack.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Karoa takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Attack buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Karoa is breathing heavily.
Karoa shoots and misses
and Attack counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Oh, that's a big right hand from Attack and Karoa goes tumbling to the canvas! Attack follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
Karoa is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Attack is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Karoa is hurt! He's hurt bad - Attack fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Karoa from any more punishment! Congratulations to Attack! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shark Attack!
