Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kenneth Grip!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grip has his takedown stuffed

and Arrington counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Grip's guard now.

Arrington drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Grip manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Arrington has Grip in his guard.

Arrington has his foot on Grip's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Grip works his way back into a safe position though.
Grip trying to control but Arrington is working from the bottom.
Arrington knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grip on the ground.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kenneth Grip wasn't active enough on the ground.
Grip with a lazy takedown attempt

and Arrington counters with a shoot takedown. Grip fights it but they end up in guard.
Grip being controlled here, momentarily.

Grip is looking for a triangle but Arrington pushes his legs off easily.

Grip has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Arrington can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Arrington looking to pass the guard.
Arrington will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Grip looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Arrington thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Grip is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Grip is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Grip should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Grip wants to sweep here but Arrington controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Arrington drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Arrington jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Grip is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Arrington defends well.

Arrington postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Grip is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Arrington, into his guard.

Grip got a little sloppy there for a moment and Arrington has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Grip has managed to get both his arms back between Arrington's legs - danger averted.

Arrington looking to control.
Grip wants to control from the top but Arrington keeps moving.

Arrington looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Grip passes into half guard.
Grip is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Arrington regains half guard.
Grip works his foot free and advances to mount.
Arrington on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Arrington tries to get out of the position.

Grip throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Arrington has his hands clasped together but Grip breaks the hold and Arrington is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Grip!
