Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Merle Jacobson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Harman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Merle Jacobson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Harman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ron Honeybunn and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harman shoots in but no luck this time.
Harman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Harman lands with a hook. Jacobson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Nice takedown defense from Jacobson. No joy for Harman on that attempt.
Harman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Harman moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Merle Jacobson has been cut.
Harman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jacobson stuffs the takedown attempt from Harman. Harman gets slowly back to his feet.
Merle Jacobson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Harman.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Harman instigates a clinch.
Jacobson really is a fat lump.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jake Harman hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Harman pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Jacobson back to the cage. Harman follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Jacobson shoots in looking for a takedown. Harman tries to sprawl out of it but Jacobson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Harman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
