Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Riccuito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Owen Glyde!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riccuito misses with a body shot

and Glyde counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Glyde is looking to advance position but Riccuito has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Riccuito looking to control and managing it successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Glyde is in all sorts of trouble here.

Glyde is trying desperately to improve position.

Glyde is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Riccuito tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Glyde is desperately trying to improve his position but Riccuito has a good base and remains in mount.
Riccuito takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mark Riccuito just wasn't active enough.
Glyde takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Riccuito misses with a shot to the body

and Glyde counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Riccuito's guard now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Glyde is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Riccuito is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Riccuito wants to sweep but no luck.
Glyde stands up over Riccuito, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Glyde is still trying to improve position.
Riccuito will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Glyde throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Riccuito works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Glyde stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Riccuito swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Glyde tries to free his leg and advance position but Riccuito is retaining full guard.
Glyde is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Riccuito is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Glyde shoots in looking for a takedown. Riccuito tries to sprawl out of it but Glyde keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Riccuito manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mark Riccuito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Glyde scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Glyde looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Riccuito tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Glyde wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owen Glyde dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Riccuito keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Glyde throws a leg kick but Riccuito checks it.
Glyde shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Riccuito as he avoids it easily.
Riccuito works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.


It looks like Owen Glyde has been cut.
A big right from Riccuito misses.
Riccuito cracks a nice hook into Glyde's ribs.
Nice uppercut lands for Riccuito. That snapped Glyde's head back.
Glyde fails to land the takedown.
Mark Riccuito has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Owen Glyde.
Glyde dives in and grabs Riccuito's left leg, looking for a takedown. Riccuito pushes down on Glyde's head and hops out.

Owen Glyde is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Glyde throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Riccuito sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Glyde shoots for a takedown but Riccuito saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Riccuito is looking to wear down Glyde with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Glyde changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Riccuito fights it off and pushes away nicely.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Riccuito is on top in guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mark Riccuito.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Glyde steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Riccuito.
It looks like Riccuito has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Riccuito swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Glyde is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Glyde dives in and grabs Riccuito's left leg, looking for a takedown. Riccuito pushes down on Glyde's head and hops out.

Glyde uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Riccuito.
Riccuito lands with a kick to the temple. Glyde shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Riccuito throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Glyde is trying to control. Riccuito wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Glyde is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Riccuito defends it well.
Glyde thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Riccuito's head.
Riccuito is trying to control but can't.
Riccuito wants to get back to full guard.

Glyde wants to lay and pray for a moment but Riccuito keeps working.

Riccuito is pulling down on Glyde's head. It's preventing any offense from Glyde, at least for the moment.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

I would just about give that final round to Owen Glyde.
I think Glyde has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Owen Glyde decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, Mark Riccuito stepped up to the mic, saying '153'.
