Schultz kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is As The Crow Flies - Newsted. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schultz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Schultz moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Gennero throws out a loose jab but Schultz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Schultz throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Gennero misses with a body shot.
Schultz dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gennero . That did some damage!
Schultz turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gennero throws a left and a right that both miss
and Schultz counters with an inside leg kick.
Gennero looks winded!
Schultz stuffs the takedown attempt from Gennero . Gennero gets slowly back to his feet.
Gennero has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Schultz.
Schultz scores with a body shot.
Gennero takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

It looks like Ed Gennero has been cut.
Schultz feints and then cracks Gennero 's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gennero down.
Schultz connects with a body shot.
Schultz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Schultz.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schultz fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gennero .
Whack! Schultz lands a heavy head kick that drops Gennero . The ref tackles Schultz to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Gennero was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Dave Schultz!
