The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason shoots in for a double leg but Leivo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Leivo gets caught napping as Mason dives in and scores a takedown. Leivo manages to retain guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Leivo looking for a sweep. Not yet Leivo, not yet.
Mason slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Mason has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A looping hook to the body misses from Mason. Leivo does a little dance to reset his feet.

Mason fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Leivo avoids it really well and circles away.

Kimmo Leivo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kimmo Leivo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Mason is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
