Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between How Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anatoliy Lapikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Long comes to the cage accompanied by Onra - One For The Wu. Lapikov has chosen AC/DC - Hells Bells as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, How Long!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Anatoliy Lapikov!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Ron Honeybunn and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lapikov misses with a looping left.

I was talking to Long's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Long can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lapikov is looking to escape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Long throws some wild stikes that Lapikov manages to avoid easily.

Long is keen to just control but Lapikov is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Long seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Long counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lapikov!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that How Long will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Lapikov pushes off an throws an elbow but Long leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Long tries to break free but Lapikov pushes him back against the cage.

Lapikov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Long is defending well for now.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Long pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Long fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lapikov manages to avoid it.
Anatoliy Lapikov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A left and a right from Long both land. Nice combination.
Lapikov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Long goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Lapikov tries to stall but Long uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Lapikov is still on wobbly legs! Can Long finish him?
Long taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Long works on Lapikov's body with a couple of short punches.
Long creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Lapikov's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Lapikov drops to his knees and Long pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Our winner, How Long, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
