PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pavel Galati (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artair Dostan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Galati comes to the cage accompanied by Anarchy in the UK. Artair Dostan told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dostan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Galati quickly recovers to half guard.
Galati tries to get to full guard but Dostan has control of the leg.

Artair Dostan has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Dostan tries to bum rush Galati with a series of wild strikes but Galati uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Dostan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dostan showed some decent athleticism there.

Galati has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dostan is working away from the top position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dostan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Galati knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Galati clinches.
Dostan is looking to control Galati's arms but Galati gets an underhook and turns him. Now Dostan has his back to the cage.

Dostan wants the takedown. Galati is fighting it off but Dostan persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Galati's guard against the cage.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Artair Dostan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Galati gets caught flat footed, as Dostan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
