Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fidel Bautista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Alberto Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perez has chosen Gangnam Style by PSY as his entrance music. Luis Alberto Perez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fidel Bautista!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luis Alberto Perez!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez ducks under a wild hook from Bautista.
Bautista missing with a left hand there. Perez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bautista connects with a body shot.
Bautista throws a leg kick that is checked
and Perez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bautista thinking.
Bautista tries for a takedown but Perez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A low kick from Bautista misses
and Perez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Perez throws a good cross that connects.
Bautista thuds a left hand into Perez's body.
Perez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Perez misses the shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Perez moves away from the strike by Bautista.
Bautista looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Perez throws a body shot but no joy.
Bautista dives in and grabs Perez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Perez pushes down on Bautista's head and hops out.
Perez avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Perez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bautista.

Perez forces Bautista back against the ropes and clinches.

Perez gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bautista.

Bautista turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bautista manages to end up in side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Bautista content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Bautista is looking to take a break and control but Perez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bautista thows a huge punch but Perez dodges it nicely.

Perez felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Perez is trying to control but can't.

Perez is adopting a defensive guard.
Perez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bautista working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Bautista tries to free his leg and advance position but Perez is retaining full guard.

Perez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bautista might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Perez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Perez throws a big shot that misses.
Perez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bautista changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Perez tries to avoid it but Bautista manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Perez to the ground. Perez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Perez connects with a looping right hand.
Nice defenses there by Bautista.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Bautista's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Perez throws a push kick but Bautista slaps the foot to one side.

Perez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bautista was well out of range. Poor timing from Perez.

Perez cracks Bautista with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Bautista throws an overhand right that lands on Perez's shoulder, as Perez tries to avoid the shot.
Perez cracks Bautista with an open hand slap.
Perez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Perez looks to land a left hand but Bautista moved out of range nicely.

Perez is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Bautista keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bautista throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Perez's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Bautista dives in looking to finish as Perez flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Bautista's strikes! Bautista is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Perez's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Perez was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fidel Bautista!
A relieved looking Fidel Bautista thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
