PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wendel Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wendel Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arthur Halo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Clark, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Halo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Clark's half guard.
Clark definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Halo is trying to control the action in half guard but Clark is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Halo seems to be looking for submissions.
Halo prevents Clark from improving his position.
Clark is working hard here to advance position.
Halo trying to pass the guard but Clark defending well.
Clark wants to improve his position but Halo is controlling well.
Clark keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Halo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Clark on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Clark tries to get out of the position.
Halo wants to pass to mount but Clark is defending the position.
Halo is still trying to improve position.
Clark manages to get to full guard.
Clark looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Halo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clark swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Halo wants to control from the top but Clark keeps moving.
Halo is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Clark lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Clark controls from within his opponent's guard.

Halo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Clark knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Halo on the ground.
Halo is trying to keep Clark in close.
Clark trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Clark controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Halo pulls Clark in to control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nice takedown defense from Clark. No joy for Halo on that attempt.
Halo misses with a few strikes there.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Halo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Clark darts in and clinches Halo up against the cage.
Clark pushes Halo back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Clark lands a body shot.
Halo looks winded!
Clark misses with a body punch.
Halo is trying to break the clinch but Clark is controlling him.
Clark digs a right hand underneath Halo's ribcage. Halo let out a lung full of air as it connected.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Clark works on Halo's body with a couple of short punches.
A right hook to the body lands for Clark.
Clark doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Halo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Clark gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Wendel Clark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arthur Halo.
Clark lands a body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Clark is working Halo over against the cage.
A body shot lands from Clark.
Clark lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Halo or not.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Clark.
Clark tries to work over Halo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Clark lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Clark works on Halo's body with a couple of short punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Clark works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Clark lands a left hand that snaps the head of Halo backwards.
Clark lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Halo backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wendel Clark dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Halo tries to move into range but Clark moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


It looks like Arthur Halo has been cut.
Halo moves away from the strike by Clark.
A looping hook to the body misses from Halo. Clark does a little dance to reset his feet.
Clark scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Halo doesn't seem bothered though.
A lazy left from Clark finds it's target.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Halo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Clark.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Halo.
Halo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clark but Clark pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Halo is breathing heavily.
Clark drops Halo with a straight right hand, right on the button! Clark follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wendel Clark!
Wendel Clark decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
