PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Kilpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fat Gorrila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kilpatrick kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Parkway Drive - Dark Days. Luke Kilpatrick has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Kilpatrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fat Gorrila!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gorrila is looking to clinch.
Kilpatrick keeps Gorrila at a distance using the push kick.
Gorrila takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gorrila tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kilpatrick manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gorrila misses with a head kick.
Gorrila connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kilpatrick has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Kilpatrick fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gorrila tries to clinch up.
Kilpatrick feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gorrilas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kilpatrick fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gorrila.
Gorrila moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Gorrila closes the distance looking to clinch

and Kilpatrick counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kilpatrick working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Kilpatrick wants to take a breather but Gorrila is having none of it.

Kilpatrick wants to work for an arm triangle but Gorrila is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kilpatrick seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kilpatrick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gorrila keeps working.

Gorrila is staying active underneath Kilpatrick, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kilpatrick has gone for a leg lock! Gorrila slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kilpatrick's guard.

Kilpatrick working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gorrila doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gorrila manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kilpatrick is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Gorrila lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Kilpatrick throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Kilpatrick counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Gorrila regains full guard. Nicely done.

Kilpatrick wants to control from the top but Gorrila keeps moving.
Kilpatrick postures up in Gorrila's guard and throws a big left but Gorrila blocks it.

Kilpatrick throws a strike but Gorrila rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kilpatrick looking for subs off his back but Gorrila has passed one foot through into half guard.
Kilpatrick is trying to get back to full guard.

Gorrila content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Kilpatrick has a hand on Gorrila's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Gorrila takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Luke Kilpatrick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kilpatrick throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Kilpatrick is wriggling around trying to escape.

Gorrila is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kilpatrick tries to roll over but Gorrila keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

It looks like Luke Kilpatrick has been cut.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gorrila lands with a light punch inside.
Gorrila presses Kilpatrick against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kilpatrick goes for a takedown attempt but Gorrila pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Fat Gorrila is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gorrila lands with a cross.
Kilpatrick takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Gorrila cracks the inside of Kilpatrick's front leg.

Luke Kilpatrick's cut is getting worse.
Kilpatrick gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Gorrila lands a big head kick that sends Kilpatrick tumbling to the mat! Gorrila takes a step backwards and waves Kilpatrick back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Luke Kilpatrick's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A slapping body kick lands there for Gorrila.
Gorrila tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gorrila scores with a nice body kick.

and Kilpatrick counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gorrila wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Kilpatrick throws a strike but Gorrila rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Fat Gorrila has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Kilpatrick throws a head kick that misses.
Kilpatrick misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gorrila.
Gorrila has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Kilpatrick tries to bum rush Gorrila with a series of wild strikes but Gorrila uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kilpatrick shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gorrila as he jumps to the side.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Gorrila scores with a kick to the midsection.
Gorrila fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jeez, Luke Kilpatrick's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Kilpatrick has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Gorrila.

Gorrila looks to land a combination. Kilpatrick sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Luke Kilpatrick's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
