Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Titus Everett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Griffith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Titus Everett has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Titus Everett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Owen Griffith!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Everett.

Griffith gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Griffith has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Everett uses from the top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Griffith is controlling Everett's posture.

Griffith is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Everett drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Griffith dives on top into guard.
Griffith is pushing down on Everett's leg trying to pass to half guard. Everett is fighting to maintain full guard but Griffith has managed to sneak the leg through.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Griffith in particular looking to stall.

Griffith decides to stand and escape the position.

Everett gets caught flat footed, as Griffith shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Everett keeping moving, preventing Griffith from controlling successfully.
Everett could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Griffith tries to free his leg and advance position but Everett is retaining full guard.
Everett is adopting a defensive guard.

Everett working for submissions but it's allowed Griffith to get to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Everett is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Everett wants to improve his position but Griffith is controlling well.
Griffith is keen to just control but Everett is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Everett is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Everett is trying to control but can't.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Everett shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Griffith tries to land a front kick but Everett steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Griffith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Everett sprawls well initially but Griffith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Everett is trying to control but can't.
Griffith missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Griffith is looking to take a break and control but Everett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Everett wants to control but Griffith is keeping busy.

Everett is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Griffith prevents Everett from standing back up.
Griffith thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Everett's head.

Griffith decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Everett walks forward, straight into a front kick from Griffith.
Everett is breathing heavily.

Griffith closes the distance and clinches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Griffith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Griffith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owen Griffith dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Everett takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Griffith moves into the clinch.

Griffith decides to pull guard.
Griffith controls Everett momentarily but Everett frees himself.
Griffith wants to stand and escape but Everett is having none of it.

Everett is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Griffith is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Griffith has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Griffith tries to free his leg and advance position but Everett is retaining full guard.

Everett wants to control the position but Griffith says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Griffith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Everett keeps working.
Everett tries to get to full guard but Griffith has control of the leg.

Everett looking for submissions off his back.

Everett looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Everett is trying to get back to full guard.

Everett is trying to maintain the position but Griffith is very close to passing his half guard.
Everett is looking for a sweep. Griffith is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Everett is trying to stand up here but Griffith is controlling him well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Owen Griffith has got the better of the ground game so far.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Griffith wants to take a breather but Everett is having none of it.

Owen Griffith has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Everett fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Everett blocks a head kick by Griffith.
Everett darts in looking for a takedown but Griffith gets double underhooks and turns Everett into the cage.
Everett stalling in the clinch but Griffith improves position.
Griffith connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Titus Everett has been cut.
Everett tries for a takedown but Griffith manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Titus Everett. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Griffith turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Griffith manages to end up in side control.

Everett being controlled for a moment.
Griffith works to advance to full mount. Everett defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Everett tries to hold on but Griffith postures up.

Griffith is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Everett can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owen Griffith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Titus Everett's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Griffith connects with a high kick.
Griffith lands a right hook to the body.
Horrible takedown by Everett or perhaps it was just good defense by Griffith which made him look bad.

Griffith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Everett!

Everett tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Griffith. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Griffith trying to control the position but Everett is working away.

Griffith is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Everett is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Griffith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Everett is trying to control Griffith's posture but Griffith avoids it.
Griffith wants to control but Everett is keeping him busy.
Everett wants to control but Griffith postures up.
Everett is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Griffith is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Everett is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Griffith off and has taken his back!

Everett landing with strikes.
Everett has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Griffith.
Griffith is trying to break free.
Griffith wants to get back to his feet.

Griffith defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Everett's arms.

Everett is persistently looking for the submission but Griffith is defending it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Everett keeps control of the position as Griffith tries to break free.
Griffith looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

I would just about give that final round to Owen Griffith.
Well Griffith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
