Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Igor Yakovchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Fall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yakovchenko comes to the cage accompanied by Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone. Jack Fall has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Igor Yakovchenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Fall!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Steve Montenegro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fall looks to land a right hand but Yakovchenko moved out of range.
Yakovchenko fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Fall has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fall smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Fall is looking to chop away at Yakovchenko's legs.
Yakovchenko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yakovchenko scores with a kick to the body.
Fall lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Yakovchenko has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Yakovchenko fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Fall.
Fall checks a leg kick nicely.
Fall throws a nice looking combination but Yakovchenko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Yakovchenko gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fall won't allow Yakovchenko to sweep him here.
Yakovchenko is working hard here to advance position.
Fall throws a big elbow that misses.
Fall is looking to work some ground and pound but Yakovchenko has wrist control.

Yakovchenko wants to control but Fall passes easily into half guard.

Fall looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Yakovchenko wants to control but Fall is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Fall looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Yakovchenko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fall sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Yakovchenko defending well though.
Fall not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Fall is trying to control. Yakovchenko wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fall is looking for a kimura but Yakovchenko is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fall to get the leverage.
Yakovchenko wants to get back to full guard.
Yakovchenko holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Fall trying to control from half guard but Yakovchenko is working away.
Yakovchenko is concentrating on defense, preventing Fall from advancing position.
Yakovchenko is refusing to be controlled, as Fall sits in half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fall shoots in for a double leg but Yakovchenko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fall keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fall checks the leg kick nicely there.
Yakovchenko shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fall moves out of range of the body kick.
Fall bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Yakovchenko's head backwards.
Fall misses with a few strikes there.
Fall cracks Yakovchenko with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Yakovchenko misses with a body kick.
Yakovchenko slips under a jab.
Fall shoots in for a takedown but Yakovchenko shows good takedown defense.
Yakovchenko waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Fall.
Fall finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Yakovchenko throws a front kick aimed at Fall's knee but Fall avoids it well.
Yakovchenko tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fall was well out of range. Poor timing from Yakovchenko.
Fall tries to land a front kick but Yakovchenko steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Yakovchenko lands a right hook to the body.
Fall takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fall lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Yakovchenko at a distance.
Yakovchenko lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Jack Fall has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yakovchenko throws a push kick but Fall slaps the foot to one side.
Fall on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Fall cracks Yakovchenko with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Fall takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Fall darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Yakovchenko moves out of range of the body kick from Fall.
Yakovchenko moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Fall throws a right hand that Yakovchenko ducks under and follows up with a left that Yakovchenko also avoids with ease.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Yakovchenko misses with a hook

and Fall counters with a single leg into guard. Yakovchenko didn't expect that.
Yakovchenko pulls Fall in close to prevent any damage.

Fall throws a sloppy strike and Yakovchenko has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Fall is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Yakovchenko!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Igor Yakovchenko!
