Gyeong has chosen Intro as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jun Gyeong has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rick Rude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jun Gyeong!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gyeong closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rude slows down the pace here.
Rude has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Rude works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Rude struggles to land a body shot inside as Gyeong controls his hands.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rude.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Rude has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gyeong is proving hard to escape from.

Gyeong dives in for a single leg takedown but Rude sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Rude lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gyeong backwards.
Gyeong tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gyeong tries to stall but Rude uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gyeong darts in and clinches Rude up against the cage.

Rude blocks an uppercut.
Gyeong is struggling to control the position.
Gyeong tries to stall but Rude uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Rude wants to break free but Gyeong has control.

Gyeong tries to throw a body punch but Rude avoids it by throwing Gyeong back against the cage.
Gyeong misses with some punches.
Gyeong prevents a body shot from Rude.
Gyeong wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rude has him pressed against the cage.
Gyeong has Rude pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rude manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
A bit of stalling here from Gyeong.
Rude misses with a hook to the ribs.

Rude wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Gyeong scores with a shoulder strike.
Rude wants to break free but Gyeong has control.

Gyeong manages to break the clinch.
Rude just misses with a punch to the body.
Jun Gyeong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gyeong wants to clinch.
Rude swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rick Rude is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rude stuffs the takedown attempt from Gyeong. Gyeong gets slowly back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A decent looking cross lands there for Rude.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rude fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rick Rude will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gyeong misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rude thows a body shot but no joy.
Gyeong tries to clinch but Rude is having none of it.
Rude's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rude duly obliges.
Gyeong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rude's waist but Rude gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gyeong off to one side.
Gyeong moves in looking to clinch but Rude pushes him off.
Gyeong scores with a leg kick.
Gyeong moves to clinch but Rude breaks away
and Rude counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Gyeong closes the distance looking to clinch
and Rude counters with a series of strikes. Gyeong will be more careful next time no doubt.
Rick Rude is winning the standup battle so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gyeong takes a swing at Rude's ribcage but misses.

Gyeong tries to clinch but Rude is having none of it.
Gyeong misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gyeong throws a nice looking combination but Rude bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Rude counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gyeong thinking.
Rude keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rick Rude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jun Gyeong.
Gyeong will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Rude scores with a nice head shot.
Rude throws a shot to the body.
Rude keeps the fight on the outside.

Nice takedown defense from Rude. No joy for Gyeong on that attempt.
Rude throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gyeong wants to clinch but Rude slips to the side
and Rude counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Rude is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Rude lands a right hook to the body.
Rude scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gyeong doesn't seem bothered though.
Gyeong is breathing heavily.
Gyeong darts in trying to clinch
and Rude counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Rude counters with a right hand to the body.
Gyeong is still on wobbly legs! Can Rude finish him?

Rude lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Gyeong falls backwards - clearly groggy! Rude dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rick Rude!
