Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pernell Karl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pernell Karl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karl jabs Doe to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Karl connects with a body shot.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Doe.
Karl sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Doe takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Karl lands a right hook to the body.
We've been told by Karl's head coaches at Victory Gym and Spa that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A shot to the body from Doe misses
and Karl connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A good leg kick by Doe.
Doe takes a swing at Karl's ribcage but misses.
Karl closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Doe gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Karl counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Doe has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Karl wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Karl blocks the body kick.
Karl throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Doe walks into a jab.
Karl is looking to wear down Doe with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Doe walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Karl connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Doe covering up! Karl comes in with a big uppercut and Doe goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Pernell Karl!
Pernell Karl tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
