PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Schroeder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Brian Schroeder was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Barnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Schroeder!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett dives in for a single leg takedown but Schroeder sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Barnett drops down looking for an ankle pick but Schroeder pulls his leg out and moves away.
Schroeder swings for the body but Barnett moves out of range.

Barnett darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Barnett takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Schroeder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Barnett is nestled in close to Schroeder, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
