Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bravo comes to the cage accompanied by Johnny Bravo's Theme. David Whyte is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnny Bravo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Whyte!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whyte misses with a double jab.
Whyte looks to land a left hand but Bravo moved out of range nicely.
Whyte throws a right and a left that Bravo avoids nicely.
Whyte fails to land with a series of punches.
Whyte circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bravo on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


It looks like Johnny Bravo has been cut.
Bravo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Whytes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Bravo checks the leg kick nicely there.
Left hook, right uppercut from Whyte.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bravo loads up on a big right hand but Whyte slips the punch.
Whyte swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bravo shoots in for a takedown but Whyte shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bravo takes one to the chin there.
Bravo moves in looking to clinch but Whyte pushes him off.
Whyte throws a jab when Bravo was well out of range.
Bravo looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Bravo throws a hook but Whyte blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice uppercut lands for Whyte. That snapped Bravo's head back.
Good exchange - Whyte coming out on top.


Bravo is rocked!
No joy there for Whyte, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bravo on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Oh Bravo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A punch combination from Whyte misses.
Nice defenses there by Bravo.
Bravo seems to have got his legs back now.
Bravo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Whyte feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Bravo sprawling to the canvas! Bravo rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Whyte finish him?!
Whyte might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bravo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Whyte looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
David Whyte is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Whyte misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bravo.
Bravo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bravo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Whyte as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Bravo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Whyte lands with a straight right. Bravo didn't see that one coming.
Bravo ducks under a wild hook from Whyte.
Bravo misses the shot to the body.
David Whyte seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Whyte throws a right hand that Bravo ducks under and follows up with a left that Bravo also avoids with ease.
Whyte misses with a few strikes there.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Bravo. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Whyte swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bravo shoots in looking for a takedown but Whyte manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bravo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Whyte tries to keep at a distance but Bravo has taken the fight into the clinch.
Whyte is trying to break the clinch but Bravo has him pressed against the cage.

Bravo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bravo gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Whyte throws a series of punches but Bravo avoids them all with ease.
Whyte throws a hook but Bravo avoids it easily.
Whyte is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Bravo had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Whyte jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Whyte throws a body kick that misses.
Bravo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Whyte tries to avoid it but Bravo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Whyte to the ground. Whyte escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bravo looking to score a takedown here. Whyte is defending well but Bravo drives through and ends up in Whyte's guard.
Bravo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bravo passes Whyte's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Bravo trying to control from half guard but Whyte is working away.
Bravo wants to pass to mount but Whyte is defending the position.
Whyte really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bravo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bravo works his way into full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Whyte wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bravo.

Bravo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Bravo putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bravo throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Whyte can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bravo lands a couple of good shots and Whyte has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Bravo is looking for the choke from the back position but Whyte is controlling his hands well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Whyte dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Johnny Bravo's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Bravo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Whyte sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A telegraphed right hand from Bravo misses the target.
Bravo dives in for a single leg takedown but Whyte sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
I was talking to Bravo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Whyte looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Bravo prevents Whyte from breaking the clinch.

Whyte pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Whyte throws a right and a left that Bravo avoids nicely.
Whyte defending well as Bravo loads up on a big left hand.
Whyte checks the leg kick.

Whyte throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Bravo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Whyte. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Whyte blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bravo.

Bravo trying to pass the guard but Whyte defending well.
Bravo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bravo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Whyte!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Whyte is trying to escape the mount.
Bravo looking to finish with strikes here!

Bravo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Bravo tries to control but Whyte wriggling away.

Whyte avoids a series of strikes thrown by Bravo.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bravo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Bravo seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Whyte is holding on tight.
Bravo trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Whyte wants to hold on but Bravo pushes him away.
Bravo thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Whyte wants to control but Bravo is having none of it.

Bravo landing strikes from the mount.
Bravo misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Bravo looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Bravo softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Whyte is out cold! Bravo jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Bravo!
