Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Lemieux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Stifler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 39 - 19 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Lemieux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Stifler !
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stifler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lemieux avoids it really well and circles away.
Lemieux throws a big shot that misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stifler has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Stifler punishes Lemieux's body with a nice straight punch.
Lemieux throws a chopping leg kick but Stifler manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Stifler throws out a loose jab but Lemieux uses good head movement to avoid it.
Stifler takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Stifler staying out of range there.
Lemieux misses with a few strikes there.

and Stifler counters with a single leg into guard. Lemieux didn't expect that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Stifler has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lemieux can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lemieux swings for the body but Stifler moves out of range.

Lemieux tries to bum rush Stifler with a series of wild strikes but Stifler uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lemieux misses with a jab, cross combination.
Stifler just misses with a punch to the body.
Lemieux will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Stifler moves out of range of the strikes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Steve Stifler will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Stifler counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Lemieux can't keep his opponent in guard - Stifler advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Stifler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lemieux with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stifler is working Lemieux over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Lemieux has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Stifler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Stifler throws a strike but Lemieux rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Lemieux has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stifler is proving hard to escape from.

Stifler escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lemieux gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lemieux is looking to work some ground and pound but Stifler has wrist control.

Lemieux is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stifler is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of David Lemieux.
The fighters circle momentarily. Lemieux darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Stifler goes for a double leg but Lemieux avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lemieux continues to drive forward.

Stifler is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lemieux gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Stifler throws a shot from downtown. Lemieux moves away and avoids it.
David Lemieux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lemieux throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
David Lemieux is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Oooooh!!! Lemieux has knocked Stifler down with a huge combo! Lemieux steps away and waves a wobbly Stifler back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Steve Stifler has been cut.
Lemieux lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Stifler - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Lemieux!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). David Lemieux!
