Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Jesus Rios!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Davor Langerholc!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rios swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Langerholc counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Langerholc throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Langerholc is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rios defends it well.
Langerholc wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rios keeps working.
Langerholc throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Langerholc missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Rios keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Rios is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Langerholc has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Langerholc avoids the attempt from Rios to control.
Langerholc misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Langerholc jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rios is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rios and Langerholc has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Langerholc tries to score with some ground and pound. Rios controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Rios stops Langerholc from passing to mount.

Langerholc working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Langerholc working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Langerholc tries to advance to mount but can't.
Langerholc in side control, throwing shots but Rios defends.

Langerholc is trying to ground and pound but Rios uses the momentary lack of control by Langerholc to regain half guard.

Langerholc lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Langerholc thows a huge punch but Rios dodges it nicely.

Langerholc thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

A low kick from Rios misses

and Langerholc counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Langerholc.
Langerholc wants to control from the top but Rios keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Langerholc accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Langerholc throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rios works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Langerholc looking to sit in guard and control but Rios gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Langerholc escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rios gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rios is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Langerholc is trying to control the position but Rios postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rios is looking to clinch.
Rios misses with a head kick.
Rios throws a leg kick

and Langerholc counters with a shoot takedown. Rios fights it but they end up in guard.
Langerholc trying to control but Rios is working from the bottom.
Langerholc loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Rios preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Langerholc is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rios is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rios has escaped and now he's on top!
Langerholc lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rios holds on and takes a little breather.

Langerholc drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rios looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rios looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rios!
Langerholc is looking to reverse the position.

Rios gets to mount! Langerholc was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Langerholc working to try and regain half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Davor Langerholc showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Rios's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Rios tries to clinch but Langerholc moves out of range.

Rios tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Langerholc was well out of range. Poor timing from Rios.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Langerholc has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rios.
Rios throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Rios misses with a low kick.
Jesus Rios is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Rios tries to close the distance and clinch but Langerholc swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rios throws a wild body kick that Langerholc sees coming a mile off.
Rios lands with a nice body punch.
Rios looks to score with a jab to the body but Langerholc is just out of range.
Rios throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rios connects with a single shot there.
Rios tries to close the distance and clinch up but Langerholc swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Rios throws a nice outside leg kick.
Rios tries to work over Langerholc's front leg with a kick but Langerholc checks it.
Rios connects with a body shot that sends Langerholc's belly button to the back.
Langerholc circles away from the clinch attempt

and Langerholc counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rios's guard now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Langerholc trying to control but Rios is working from the bottom.
Langerholc throws a strike but Rios rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rios won't allow Langerholc to sweep him here.

Langerholc is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Langerholc is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jesus Rios has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Langerholc wants to sweep here but Rios controlling him for the moment.
Davor Langerholc is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Langerholc pulls Rios in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jesus Rios wasn't doing enough on the ground.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rios looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
