Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Niko Alzate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liu Bei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bei has chosen Tale of Three Brothers as his entrance music. Liu Bei is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alzate uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bei.
Alzate will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Alzate definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Alzate throws a big shot that misses.
Alzate looks to land a left hand but Bei moved out of range nicely.
Niko Alzate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alzate walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Bei tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alzate was well out of range. Poor timing from Bei.
Bei takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Alzate getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Bei clinches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alzate jumps guard but Bei turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Bei blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Bei scores with a shot to the side of Alzate's head.
Alzate tries to throw a body punch but Bei avoids it by throwing Alzate back against the cage.
Bei's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Alzate misses with a punch to the body.

Bei can't find room to land a body shot as Alzate controls the action.
Alzate is trying to pull guard but Bei turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Alzate presses Bei against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Alzate scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Bei leaning his opponent against the cage.
Bei prevents a body shot from Alzate.
Bei blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Alzate misses with some punches.
Alzate swings wildly with an uppercut but Bei uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bei lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Alzate backwards.

Bei blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Bei goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alzate lands an uppercut.
Bei tries to throw a body punch but Alzate avoids it by throwing Bei back against the cage.
Alzate scores with a shot to the side of Bei's head.
Alzate turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Alzate manages to end up in side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Alzate tries to advance to mount but Bei denies him.
Bei is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Alzate has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Bei is trying to escape the position but Alzate is controlling the position.
Alzate misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Bei takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alzate has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Alzate lands a heavy elbow.
Alzate trying to control but Bei is having none of it.
Bei tries to hold on but Alzate pushes him away.
Alzate wants to control the pace but Bei is squirming around nicely.
Alzate has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Alzate working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Bei turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Alzate off and cradles Bei's limp body as Alzate celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Niko Alzate!
