The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adabisi circles away from the clinch attempt
enabling Adabisi to counter with a crisp jab.
Bate Bate tries to land a front kick but Adabisi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Adabisi stuffs the takedown.
Bate Bate moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Bate Bate has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Adabisi misses with a looping left.
Bate Bate rushes Adabisi and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bate Bate takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Pirulito Bate Bate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Adabisi has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bate Bate is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Adabisi digs a good hook to Bate Bate's body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Adabisi drops Bate Bate with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bate Bate looks back up at him and smiles so Adabisi waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Oh Bate Bate is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Simon Adabisi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bate Bate wants to clinch up but Adabisi keeps it at a distance.
Bate Bate uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Adabisi.
Bate Bate seems to have got his legs back now.

and Adabisi counters with a nice body shot.
Adabisi looks to land a combination but Bate Bate avoids it well.

The crowd cheers as Bate Bate lands an impressive looking overhand right. Adabisi doesn't seem phased though.
Adabisi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

enabling Adabisi to counter with a crisp jab.
Adabisi is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Bate Bate had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Bate Bate tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Adabisi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A slapping body kick lands there for Bate Bate.
Adabisi has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A combination from Adabisi does no damage.

Bate Bate misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Bate Bate takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Adabisi throws a nice looking combination but Bate Bate bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bate Bate does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and Adabisi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bate Bate closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Simon Adabisi dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Adabisi counters with a crisp one two that drops Bate Bate! Adabisi thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Bate Bate to his feet! Bate Bate is in big trouble!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Adabisi counters with a nice right hand that sends Bate Bate toppling to the canvas! Bate Bate scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Adabisi finish him?!
Bate Bate lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Adabisi circles away quickly and effectively.

Adabisi darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Bate Bate's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Adabisi before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
