Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Griffin.
Griffin swings widly with a right hand
and Walker counters with a nice leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Walker.

Griffin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Walker is refusing to be controlled, as Griffin sits in half guard.
Walker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Griffin slips a nice elbow through Walker's hands, connecting with Walker's forehead.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Griffin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Walker is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Griffin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Griffin's back!
Walker has the hooks in. Griffin is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Griffin rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Griffin is doing well to control the position and prevent Walker from advancing to side control.

Walker is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Griffin sees it coming and defends easily.
Griffin is trying to maintain the position but Walker is very close to passing his half guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chris Griffin wasn't active enough on the ground.
Walker tries a head kick but it misses.

Griffin throws a push kick but Walker slaps the foot to one side.
Griffin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Walker.
Walker blocks a head kick by Griffin.
Walker shoots in and drives through. Griffin sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Griffin wants to clinch up but Walker keeps it at a distance.
Griffin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Walker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Griffin somewhat.

and Walker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Walker.
Griffin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Walker walks away with a smile on his face. Griffin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Griffin avoids the head kick by Walker.
Griffin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Walker at a distance.
Walker is breathing heavily.

Griffin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Walker.
Griffin takes a swing at Walker's ribcage but misses.
Chris Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Griffin clinches up against the ropes.
Griffin lands a body punch in the clinch.
Walker has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Griffin after a bit of a struggle.

Griffin manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Walker wants to control from the top but Griffin keeps moving.
Griffin is controlling Walker's posture.

Walker drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Griffin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Walker has Griffin in his guard.

Griffin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Walker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
It looks like Griffin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chris Griffin wasn't active enough on the ground.
Walker stuffs the takedown.
Walker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Griffin tries to avoid it but Walker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Griffin to the ground. Griffin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Griffin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Walker's waist but Walker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Griffin off to one side.
Walker avoids the head kick by Griffin.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Griffin darts in and clinches Walker up against the ropes.
Griffin can't break the clinch.
Griffin jumps guard but Walker turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Griffin dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Walker swats away the attempt to clinch by Griffin.
Griffin scores with a shot to the body.

Walker rushes Griffin and presses him up against the ropes.

Walker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Griffin misses with a wild combination.
Griffin is looking to clinch.

Griffin has closed the distance and engaged Walker in a clinch.

Walker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Griffin is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Walker rather than just go for the knockout.
Walker lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown but Walker shows good takedown defense.

Griffin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Walker was well out of range. Poor timing from Griffin.

and Walker counters with a nice low kick that buckles Griffin's knee momentarily.
A combination from Griffin does no damage.
Griffin throws a head kick that misses
and Walker counters with a head kick. That will keep Griffin thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Griffin throws a lazy uppercut
and Walker makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Griffin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Walker pushes Griffin up against the ropes in a clinch.

Walker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Griffin looks to land a combination but Walker avoids it well.
The fighters circling - Griffin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Walker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Griffin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Walker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Walker wants it to stay on the feet.
Griffin blocks a head kick by Walker.

Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Walker paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Walker as he jumps to the side.
Alex Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Griffin.
Griffin tries to bum rush Walker with a series of wild strikes but Walker uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Walker shoots in for a double leg but Griffin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Chris Griffin seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Griffin misses with a right hand
and Walker counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Griffin misses with a head kick.
Walker swats away the attempt to clinch by Griffin.
Nice takedown defense from Griffin. No joy for Walker on that attempt.

Griffin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Griffin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Walker has escaped the position, nice work there.

Griffin tries to advance to mount but can't.

Griffin is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Walker's shoulder. That is not cool.

Griffin is looking to take a break and control but Walker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Griffin cracks Walker with a big right hand but Walker just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Griffin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Walker manages to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Griffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Griffin shoots in but Walker avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Griffin throws a body shot but no joy.
Griffin looks to land a combination but Walker avoids it well.
Griffin dives in for a single leg takedown but Walker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Walker has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Griffin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Walker manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Chris Griffin has got the better of the ground game so far.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Walker goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Griffin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Walker pinned against the ropes. Walker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Griffin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Griffin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Walker gets caught napping as Griffin dives in and scores a takedown. Walker manages to retain guard.
Griffin wants to pass the guard but Walker is keeping the position.
Walker is trying to keep Griffin in close.

Griffin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Walker haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Griffin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Chris Griffin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Griffin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Griffin keeps the fight on the outside.
Griffin feints a jab promting Walker to slip. Griffin then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Walker slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Griffin tries for a takedown but Walker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Walker as he avoids it easily.
Walker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Griffin but Griffin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chris Griffin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I've got Griffin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
