Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitchell Stehling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikolai Kovalenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stehling's entrance music is Turmion Kätilöt - Minä MÄÄRÄÄN!. A fine choice. Nikolai Kovalenko will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolai Kovalenko!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Kovalenko.

and Stehling counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kovalenko's guard now.
Stehling might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Stehling closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Stehling is looking to take a break and control but Kovalenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Stehling shoots in for a double leg but Kovalenko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kovalenko fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Stehling has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Some bone on bone action there as Stehling checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
No joy there for Kovalenko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Stehling.
Stehling wants to slow Kovalenko down by chopping away at his legs.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kovalenko is not content to let Stehling control the position.
Stehling sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kovalenko is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Kovalenko wants to get back to his feet but Stehling is dominant here and he's now got Kovalenko's back!
Kovalenko is trapped and Stehling is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Stehling.

Stehling throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Kovalenko!
Mitchell Stehling overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Kovalenko finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes.
