Hermansson comes to the cage accompanied by Rammstein - Ich Will!. Udo Hitzlsperger has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jan Olov Hermansson's chin.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Hermansson blocks the leg kick.
Hermansson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hermansson. Hitzlsperger does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hitzlsperger throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Hermansson tries to clinch but Hitzlsperger moves away
and Hitzlsperger counters with a stiff right hand.
Hermansson throws a looping overhand right but Hitzlsperger ducks down to avoid it.
Hermansson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hermansson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hermansson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hitzlsperger.
Hitzlsperger thows a body kick. Hermansson tries to catch it but that hurt him.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hitzlsperger.

Hermansson goes for a takedown attempt but Hitzlsperger pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hitzlsperger.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hitzlsperger creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hermansson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hitzlsperger doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hitzlsperger manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hermansson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hitzlsperger is working away from the top position though.
Hitzlsperger thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hermansson is controlling Hitzlsperger's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Hitzlsperger looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hermansson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
