Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Benton Grimes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benton Grimes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Silver!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimes fails to land with a series of punches.

Silver looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Grimes!
Grimes really is a fat lump.
Silver wants to control but Grimes is keeping him busy.
Grimes looks to move to half guard but instead Silver has passed into mount! Damn!
Silver controlling his opponent.
Grimes is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Grimes sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Grimes tries to get to full guard but Silver has control of the leg.
Grimes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Silver trying to control the action but Grimes is working from the bottom.
Grimes wants to get back to full guard.

Grimes is trying to control but Silver manages to pass to mount!
Grimes is desperately trying to improve his position but Silver has a good base and remains in mount.
Grimes tries to control the position but Silver now has his back.
Silver tries to keep control of the position but Grimes is staying busy.
Silver is hanging on to Grimes's back as he tries to escape.

I really don't envy Grimes right now.
Silver lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Silver.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silver patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Silver gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Grimes holding both Silver 's hands and preventing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grimes is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Silver.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Grimes preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Silver.
Silver controls the action.

Grimes just trying to survive but Silver is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Grimes is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Grimes is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Silver gets his way!
Grimes is trying to get back to his feet but Silver has full control of the position and if anything, Grimes has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Silver lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Silver's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Grimes is keeping busy.
You can see the frustration on Grimes's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Silver is looking to control Grimes but Grimes is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Silver is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Grimes covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Will Silver go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Grimes is really stuck here.
Silver doesn't have the hooks in and Grimes manages to turn into his guard.

John Silver dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Silver shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Silver was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Grimes trying to remain calm as Silver controls from the top position.

Silver tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Grimes is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Silver with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Grimes is looking for a sweep. Silver is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Silver is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Silver is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Silver not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Grimes trying to hold on to Silver's head to control him but Silver postures up.
Grimes gets full guard.
Silver pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Grimes is keeping the position for now.
Grimes is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Grimes is refusing to be controlled, as Silver sits in half guard.
John Silver has got the better of the ground game so far.
Grimes wants to get back to full guard but Silver has passed into side control.
Silver is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Grimes's shoulder. That is not cool.
Grimes trying to control but Silver flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
We've been informed that Silver has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Grimes rolls, trying to escape but Silver keeps control of the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Will Silver go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Grimes turns into Silver and is now in his guard.

Grimes throwing strikes but missing.
Grimes with a flurry of punches that miss.
Grimes throws a strike but Silver rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Silver thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Grimes pulls Silver in close to prevent any damage.

Grimes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silver doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silver manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silver is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Silver trying to control but Grimes is working from the bottom.
Silver wants to get up but he can't break Grimes's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Grimes wants to sweep here but Silver controlling him for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Silver would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

John Silver showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Silver tries to clinch but Grimes is having none of it.

Grimes gets caught napping as Silver dives in and scores a takedown. Grimes manages to retain guard.
Silver has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Grimes is proving hard to escape from.
Grimes keeping moving, preventing Silver from controlling successfully.
Grimes wants to stand but Silver is controlling the position.

Grimes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Silver sitting in guard here, content to control.

Silver working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Grimes keeping moving, preventing Silver from controlling successfully.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Silver hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Grimes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Silver takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Grimes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Silver avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Silver trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Silver passes Grimes's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Silver is pressing down on Grimes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Grimes is holding on for now.
Grimes is refusing to be controlled, as Silver sits in half guard.
Silver trying to pass the guard but Grimes defending well.

Silver keeps trying to improve his position.
Silver content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Silver was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Silver shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Silver showed some decent athleticism there.
Grimes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silver is working away from the top position though.
Grimes is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Grimes tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Silver has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Silver is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Grimes can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Grimes is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Grimes wants to hold on but Silver pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Silver comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Silver has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
